Oropeza, Stones & Cardenas

About Us

In 1997, original partners, Ginny Stones and Susan Cardenas, formed Stones & Cardenas. Susan previously worked for a large regional firm with offices in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Ginny worked as an Assistant State Attorney and City Attorney for the City of Key West and in private practice. The partners decided to join forces and establish a law firm that utilized the expertise that Ginny gained in land use and zoning matters during her service as City Attorney and the broad civil experience that Susan acquired handling commercial and real property matters.

In April of 2017, Ginny and Susan welcomed Gregory S. Oropeza as the Managing Partner. A Key West native, Greg has spent his professional career practicing real estate, land use and real estate litigation in Key West and Monroe County. Together, they created a firm dedicated to providing solution-based service in real property related matters.

In January of 2020, Greg acquired True Title Agency in Big Pine Key to provide a location and avenue to better serve clients in the Lower Florida Keys. True Title Agency, now known as True Title Florida Keys, is a subsidiary of Oropeza, Stones & Cardenas.

In 2021, Associate Attorneys, Elizabeth “Lisa” M. Kehoe and Kai A. Murphy, joined Oropeza Stones & Cardenas. The three attorneys have a unique history as they were all raised in Key West and have strong family ties to the area. Lisa became a Partner in 2023. Today, the firm continues to be a leading Key West law firm focused on real estate transactions. Every year since 2018, Oropeza Stones & Cardenas has been named a Top 25 Agent for The Fund. In 2022, the firm was the #2 agent in Florida for The Fund.
